These clubs are offered FREE to all WES students and meet after school at various times throughout the year:
- Lego WeDo: LEGO® Education WeDo is an early robotics club for 1st and 2nd graders that enables students to learn, construct and then bring their Lego models to life.
- Navy SeaPerch: SeaPerch is an underwater robotics program for 4th and 5th grade students. The SeaPerch Program provides students with the opportunity to learn about robotics, engineering, science, and mathematics (STEM) while building an underwater ROV as part of a science and engineering technology curriculum. Throughout the project, students will learn engineering concepts, problem solving, teamwork, and technical applications. Students also have an opportunity to compete at the local SeaPerch competition.
- Science Olympiad: Students in grades 3-5 are given an opportunity to compete for one of our limited spots on the Woodland Science Olympiad team. If chosen, students meet weekly throughout the year to prepare for competition. Science Olympiad is a science competition, providing rigorous, standards-based challenges for students.
- Gardening and Culinary Arts Club: Offered to students in grades 3-5 to explore, engage in, and learn about the world of gardening. Students will learn how to cultivate food from beginning to end and prepare dishes with their harvest.
